The Church is for the village
Lower Kingswood Evangelical Church has been part of the village since 1923. In 2008,
by God's generous provision we were able to build a modern, purpose built premises.

LKEC started in 1923 as a Mission Hall branch of a similar fellowship at Tadworth.
Like many small churches at that time, it met
in an 'iron chapel' which was replaced in 1931 with a more substantial hall.

In 1944 the mission was formally constituted
as a church, affilliated to the Fellowship of Independent Evangelical Churches (FIEC). From 1999 we worked towards replacing the old building and this was formally opened on the 2nd November 2008.

LKEC has links with around 500 other independent churches in the UK through the FIEC. These churches share a strong committment to the truth of God revealed in the bible and encourage and support one another.

In addition to our UK contacts, LKEC has interests in Christian work in many parts of the world and has frequent visits from missionary agencies which the church supports in prayer and financially.

LKEC presently meets with the support and leadership of Tollgate Evangelical Church, Redhill.
